Prototype:

The 4-6-0 ten Wheeler was a standard addition to most early 20th century Railroads. Much like the 2-8-0 Consolidation the 4-6-0 was a go-anywhere, do anything locomotive that carried freight and passengers and was also used for industrial applications. This model replicates a catalogue standard Baldwin locomotive built between 1905 and 1910 representing the 52 inch driver version. The 4-6-0's were utilised throughout the steam era with some locos seeing use in the American South as late as the 1950's.
