This is a die-cast ready-to-run On30 scale Rail Truck (Catalogue No: 29133) DCC equipped and manufactured by Bachmann for their prestige Spectrum series with a much greater level of detail (see accompanying photograph). With DCC On Board technology you can control the direction, speed and lighting of the locomotive using Bachmann's E-Z Command Digital Command Control System or any NMRA-compliant DCC system but the locomotive is also fully compatible with standard analogue DC (non-digital) railway layouts.

Along with the financial devastation of the Great Depression, the Rio Grande Southern faced natural disaster as well when a mudslide cut the railroad into two pieces. A divided line severely reduced rail traffic, and the struggle to remain financially solvent in the face of these difficulties inspired the RGS to develop Motor Car No.1, a cost-effective solution to severely reduced passenger, freight, and US Mail traffic.

Based on the replica of Rio Grande Southern Motor No.1 that resides in Colorado’s Ridgeway Railroad Museum, our DCC-equipped Rail Truck brings whimsy and realism to narrow gauge modelling
